The Board cannot deliberate on non-agenda items.

Board Meetings are every third Wednesday of the month at 12:30pm at the Administration Building.

East Cedar Creek Fresh Water Supply District (ECCFWSD) is a governmental non-profit organization. The District was created by the 65th Texas Legislature in 1977 to provide a public service.

We have approximately 5,500 connections.

Our plants are rated to treat:
  • 1.73 million gallons per day at the McKay Water Plant on Enchanted Oaks Drive.
  • 2.0 million gallons per day at the Brookshire Water Plant on Hammer Rd.

When peak use exceeds capacity, we must upgrade or expand our treatment plant.

Plant expansion isn't cheap, and the costs get passed on to the customer.

You can help us moderate those peaks and avoid costly upgrades by:

  • Watering your lawn only as necessary;
  • Using control nozzles on hoses so water doesn't run continuously when you're washing your car;
  • Keeping water on the lawn and off sidewalks and driveways and out of gutters;
  • Fixing leaks inside and outside the house;
  • Running dishwashers and washing machines with full loads only.

Did You Know ...
- For a single-family residential family, the average water use per day is 69 gallons per person per day.  For a household of two people in a 30-day billing cycle, that calculates to 4,140 gallons of water used per month.  An average consumer in our area uses 4,500 gallons of water per month.

- Conventional washers from the 1980s use 48 to 55 gallons per load.
   Washers from the 1990s use 39 to 43 gallons of water per load.
   Full-sized high efficiency washer uses 18 to 25 gallons of water per load.

-  A water efficient dishwasher uses 7 gallons per load.
   Dishwashers manufactured before 1990 use about 14 gallons per load.

-  Since 1992, new faucets use a maximum of 2.2 gallons per minute at 60 lbs per square inch.  Installing aerators can save up to one-half the amount of water used.  Faucets without aerators can use up to 7 gallons per minute.

- Showers installed in the 1980s use 3 to 4 gallons per minute and pre-1980 showerheads use 5 to 8 gallons per minute.  Since 1992 in Texas, new showerheads must use a maximum of 2.5 gallons per minute at 80 lbs per square inch (this calculates to 25 gallons of water for a 10-minute shower built after 1992).

- Toilets manufactured before 1980 usually require 5 to 7 gallons per flush.  Models installed in the 1980s use around 3.5 gallons per flush.  Since 1992 in Texas, new toilets must use no more than 1.6 gallons per flush.  If you replace a 3.5 or 5 gallon toilet with a newer toilet manufactured after 1992, you cold save about 9,740 or 17,300 gallons of water per year.  If you have a pre-1992 toilet, water can be conserved by installing displacement devices such as a plastic bottle or bag into the tank.

- Washing Hands where you leave the water running, uses 1/2 gallon of water.

- Brushing your teeth where you leave the water running, uses 2 gallons of water.
